Works have started on our recently purchased ‘Rusticus’ care home in Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire.
The first phase of works to the 2.5-acre site, which has been run as a care home for the last 23 years and was purchased by Church Farm Care in October 2017, will see the renovation of 24 bedrooms, all with spacious en-suite facilities and two living areas featuring accessible dining and kitchen facilities, designed to make residents feel at home.
Rusticus, which currently accommodates 44 residents, will welcome 76 residents in total when the £2.5m refurbishment and renovation works are complete.
Phase one of development at Rusticus is due for completion in May 2018, with the final two phases due to begin shortly after. Mansfield-based Craig Wells Building Contractors is delivering the scheme on behalf of Church Farm Care.
Patrick Atkinson, director of Church Farm Care, said: “The development is focused on creating an environment that takes advantage of the area’s beautiful rural surroundings, designed to make our residents feel as comfortable as possible and at home. The works will provide roomy and high spec en-suite facilities that will support residents’ independence and dignity and also provide the care team with appropriate facilities to be able to best support the residents.
“We would like to thank Craig Wells Building Contractors for helping us create Rusticus and we are very excited that works are now underway. We are really looking forward to seeing our vision be brought to life and to be able to provide our residents with these fantastic new facilities.”
Church Farm Care aims to restore and improve Rusticus to provide the first-class, quality care we are known for at our other homes; Skylarks in West Bridgford, Church Farm in Cotgrave and Field House in Radcliffe-on-Trent.
When the refurbishment works are complete in August 2020, it will also feature a hair salon, cinema, community centre, specially designed outdoor garden areas and a coffee lounge to create a space that feels safe and familiar for members of the Rusticus family.
