Working at Church Farm
Church Farm Care believes that the people working for us are our biggest asset and our recruitment process focuses on finding people with specific personal qualities such as being genuine, fun loving and having life experience regardless of age. We invest a great deal in our whole staff team of over 300 people. Everyone including nurses, support workers, catering, domestic and maintenance staff attend a comprehensive 4 day induction programme. They are then supported by named colleagues in the workplace for as long as they need to feel confident and at home with their role.
Continuing support and development includes regular supervision and ‘well-being’ meetings with a person’s line manager, a comprehensive training and mentoring programme to develop the specialist knowledge and skills they need to carry out their role to the best of their ability and feel fulfilled at work.
When asked why do you work for Church Farm Care these are the responses that some of our employees gave us:
“I used to be a security guard but I wanted to do something that I felt inside.”
“It is so rewarding working with people with dementia because they need you to be their best friend one day and maybe a daughter or Mum the next and I can be that person. Here at Church Farm we are encouraged to be loving and creative; whatever it takes to help a person feel at home and safe.”
“I could be a cleaner anywhere but here I know I am supporting the carers to look after people well and it is rewarding. I like chatting with the people who live here and they help me with the dusting.
