Skylarks is a Church Farm Care Home based just outside of Nottingham city centre. A nursing home specialising in the care of people living with a dementia, the quality of care that we provide has been recognised by Nottingham County Council with the 'Dementia Quality Mark' and Band 5 rating.
We are proud to follow the leading edge “Dementia Care Matters, Butterfly Household” model of care which focuses on providing dementia care that brings out the best in our staff and enables everyone living at Skylarks to experience real quality of life outcomes.
“Quality of life matters and is the only real indicator of quality service in person centred dementia care.” David M Sheard, Dementia Care Matters
We believe that each person is an individual with a life history that we respect. We promote self-esteem and encourage independence whilst providing a comfortable and safe environment to help people feel at home. We encourage family involvement and aim to work in partnership with everyone involved in the lives of people living here.
Rated Band 5 with Nottingham County Council with the Dementia Quality Mark.
Each year we are inspected by Nottingham County Council and have retained a Band 5 rating for three years, the highest banding available; the most recent inspection took place in October 2019. We also have the Dementia Quality Mark which recognises the quality of support given to people who live with dementia.
People’s own bedrooms provide private space personal to them, enhanced with their own belongings and creating a feeling of familiarity and safety that is truly their own.
All bedrooms have en-suite bathroom facilities enabling privacy for each person. Many have a small patio garden that families and friends can enjoy together.
The extensive gardens provide the opportunity for people to take a good walk outdoors and enjoy a sense of the countryside.
