John Spollin is the Home Manager at Field House
John is a RGN and RMN nurse who has managed care homes for almost 20 years. For the last 5 years, John has been the manager at Field House Nursing Home.
John believes in supporting and developing the staff team and empowering them to provide excellent care. He enjoys working closely with residents and their families and strives to make them feel welcome and involved in life in the home.
John believes that Field House plays an important role in the local community and as such he aims to take part in social and spiritual events. John is always willing to listen, develop relationships and work with everyone involved in a person’s care to achieve best practice.
Valia Vryoni is the Deputy Manager at Field House
Valia is originally from Greece; she has lived in Nottingham for the last 4 years and considers it to be her second home. Valia describes her journey to becoming a nurse as something that was meant to be as it is who she is not just what she does. Valia’s father is a doctor and her mother a nurse so a medical environment feels natural for her.
Valia studied her university Degree in Greece and continued with her Master's Degree and PHD there continuing to work as an academic for two years. Looking to expand her knowledge as part of her PHD study and seek new adventures, Valia ended up in England to learn about how a different Health System works.
Valia has chosen to stay in England and is now a permanent UK resident. In her role as Deputy Manager, Valia’s goal is to provide and maintain high standards of care and she follows her own code of, 'always treat people the way you or a member of your family would like to be treated.' Valia describes satisfaction in her role when she hears people describe Field House Nursing Home as 'Home'
Dimitra Gontzoulia is the Clinical Lead at Field House
Dimitra is a registered nurse, qualified in Greece and is the clinical lead nurse at Church Farm at Field House. She has previous experience in hospitality before she decided that nursing was the career for her.She has several years of experience in elderly care, having worked in both hospital and nursing homes. Dimitra has a passion for providing high quality dementia and palliative care and takes pride in leading a positive person centred care approach.
Dimitra’s approach is driven by people first and her moto is: ‘To do what nobody else will do, in a way that nobody else can do, in spite of all we go through, that is to be a nurse.” Dimitra's goal is to never stop broadening her horizons in the field of quality of care .
